UNESCO endorses Waldorf education as an educational model for the 21st century
In 1994 UNESCO sponsored an exhibition on Waldorf-Steiner schools as part of its 44th International Congress on Education held in Geneva. At this congress, Waldorf education was described by UNESCO as the Pedagogy of the 21st century for having demonstrated for 80 years its adaptability to any environment, culture and religion, as well as its enormous advantages.
In addition, Waldorf schools are part of the worldwide network of schools associated with UNESCO (ASPnet) for integrating democratic ideals, peace education, multicultural work and solidarity between schools in very different countries into their educational projects.
